Shawn Estes - SF SP

Shawn Estes joins former Giants teammate Kirk Rueter in the Stouts rotation. I grabbed him just in time as eight of the final ten picks in the round were all pitchers. Another starting pitcher who seems to be a bit undervalued by the Millennium League owners, Estes won 15 games for the Giants in 2000 with a 4.26 ERA in 30 starts. Not sure if it's the his relatively high ERAs that scared other owners away. Regardless, Estes is another middle of the rotation innings eater. He went eight consecutive years with at least 25 starts. He tends to walk a lot of batters, leading the league in that category once and eclipsing the 100 BB mark four times in his 13 year career. But he's left-handed with a decent move and has a gun in I-Rod to keep the base-running at bay. Although he's never to be confused with Babe Ruth, Estes did knock four HRs in his career.
Will try to continue with pitching in the next few rounds. Still need 70 starts to round out my rotation. Will need to address the bullpen eventually, although there are so many serviceable arms out there to be had. Best available arm will be the theme for awhile.
