Robert Fick - DET 1B/C

In need of a left-handed bat off the bench and Robert Fick is my choice. He can play catcher, but not well. Will try to avoid putting him behind the plate if I can. What he does do is provide some pop and on-base ability from the left side of the plate. In 2001, his first full-time season, he is actually quite good, smacking 19 homers and compiling a .816 OPS. In 2002, he was an American League All-Star. He'll have a hard time cracking the starting lineup, but he is a useful guy off the bench. He'll be my primary PH against right-handed pitching.
Sill need a backup catcher, and a backup SS for that matter. Only three rounds left in the draft. Guess it's about time to pull the trigger.
